A boat party in Malta is a sea party aboard a festive boat — unlimited open bar, live DJ, swimming in turquoise waters and sunset over the Mediterranean. Every week from June to October, hundreds of travelers board from Sliema Ferries to experience the island's most iconic activity. It's a floating club, a swimming excursion and an international meeting point — all included in the ticket price. Malta Adventures offers two options: the Mega Boat Party (festive and relaxed, with buffet and swimming) and the White Boat Party (premium, 400 guests, white dress code). Both depart from Sliema Ferries and last between 4 and 5 hours.
You arrive at Sliema Ferries 15 minutes before departure — the atmosphere is already building on the pier. As soon as you board, the open bar is open: spirits, beers, softs, everything is included. The boat heads out towards the waters of Comino. The DJ starts their set, people start dancing. Midway through, the boat stops for a swimming break in crystal-clear waters (Mega Boat Party). Then the set picks up again until you return to Sliema around 11 PM. The party in Paceville starts where the boat party ends — it's a 10-minute taxi ride.
The boat party season in Malta runs from June to October. Peak time is July and August — both boats sell out several days in advance. If you want specific dates without risking a sell-out, June and September offer the best balance: perfect temperatures, fewer crowds, easier to book. Don't wait until the last minute in summer — tickets go fast and prices increase based on demand. Online booking takes 2 minutes and your ticket arrives by email immediately.
The boat party is the number 1 activity for stag and hen groups in Malta. The festive atmosphere, unlimited open bar and sea setting make it an unforgettable moment to celebrate before the big day. The Mega Boat Party is perfect for a relaxed group — no strict dress code, sandwich included, swimming. The White Boat Party is ideal for a premium stag or hen with white dress code and 2 dance floors. Malta Adventures also organizes complete stag and hen programs: check our Stag Malta guide for a tailor-made program.

We boarded both boats. Here's what no one else will tell you.
Both boat parties take place aboard the Geraldine, a Supreme Cruises vessel — the big blue and white boat docked facing Sliema's seafront. It has two areas: an open-air upper deck (best for sunset AND sound — head up as soon as you board to get your spot) and an indoor lower level for sheltered dancing. If you want a quiet break or conversation, the front of the boat is the calmest spot.
Forget vague 'Sliema Ferries' directions. The meeting point is opposite Black Sheep Drink & Dine, 55 Triq Ix-Xatt, Sliema. Plan to arrive 15 minutes early — the boat waits for no one, no exceptions. There are no lockers or cloakroom on board: leave valuables at your hotel.
The open bar is unlimited — that's true. But these are budget brands (basic vodka, rum, whisky) and Cisk, the local Maltese beer. For softs: Coke, Fanta, Sprite. No elaborate cocktails. Note: there's no buffet. A sandwich is included — eat before boarding.
The stop happens between 8 PM and 9 PM. Warning: the boat no longer goes to Comino's Blue Lagoon. Maltese regulations on the protected Comino zone now prohibit access for boats of this type. The stop is in open sea — the water is clean and the experience is still great, but if you're coming specifically for the Blue Lagoon, book a dedicated excursion separately.
Mega Boat Party: our recommendation if you're coming solo or with friends. Mostly French-speaking crowd, festive and accessible vibe, best value at 69 euros. White Boat Party: more international crowd, more premium atmosphere, ideal for stag/hen parties or mixed groups. The white dress code really changes the vibe — the photos are incomparable. Both boats have the same sound system.
The boat returns to Sliema — you're 10 minutes by taxi from Paceville. All clubs still accept people at midnight. Two exceptions: Hugo's Hotel stops admitting anyone after midnight, and TwentyTwo closes doors to new arrivals at 2 AM. Check our events calendar to see what's happening the night you're boarding.
