Tigullio is no ordinary club. Founded over 70 years ago on the shores of Spinola Bay, it is one of the most historic venues in Maltese nightlife — a roller-skating rink turned concert hall, then a landmark club. Now completely renovated, Tigullio is the essential spot for French rap nights, artist showcases, and French and international music in Malta.

The story begins in the 1950s, when a garden in Spinola Bay was converted into an outdoor roller-skating rink. British officers from Pembroke and Maltese high society would gather there to skate to the sound of live orchestras. A few years later, an architect from the Italian region of Tigullio was commissioned to transform the venue into a nightclub — hence the name. The club quickly became one of Malta's most frequented discos, built of Maltese stone, surrounded by trees and esparto grass.

After closing in the 90s, Tigullio was reborn with a new concept: an arts, social, and nightclub complex. During the week, the venue hosts workshops, jam sessions, and live performances. On weekends, the transformation is complete — outdoor concert stage, open-air dancefloor, and indoor space. It is in this unique setting that francophone artists come to perform showcases in Malta: French rap, international hip-hop, French and urban music in one of the island's only clubs to offer this live format.
