With skipper or self-drive with no licence: which boat to hire?
Self-drive, no licence: you drive
Two motor boats, with 6 and 7 seats, can be hired without a licence, leaving from St Julian's. You just need to be 18 or over and have ID. Half day or full day, fuel is extra, and the cash security deposit is returned when you bring the boat back.
With skipper: you relax
The RIB (rigid inflatable boat), the sailing yacht and the catamarans go out with a professional skipper, who knows the anchorages and takes care of the navigation: you need no licence. They leave from Ta' Xbiex marina, near Sliema.
Catamaran: for groups
From around ten people, a catamaran is the most comfortable choice: stable, roomy, with nets at the front to stretch out on. Seven private catamarans, for 14 to 55 people.
