Bar Native and Native Lounge Club: the same place

For years, all of Paceville knew it as Bar Native, the area's Latin bar. In 2026, it changed its name and style: it's now the Native Lounge Club, more polished, with lounges, VIP tables and DJs. Same address, same website (nativemalta.com).

It's on Triq Santa Rita, the big steps that climb up from St George's Road, a stone's throw from St George's Bay. Its neighbours: Bacco by Hugo's, The Nordic Bar and Hugo's Lounge, a few metres away.

Bar or club?

Both, depending on the time. Native opens at midday like a bar-restaurant, with a terrace to watch the street go by. Late afternoon is happy hour time. After midnight, the DJs turn up the sound and the atmosphere becomes that of a small club. It's not a big nightclub: the ground-floor room holds about 60 people, plus the terrace.

Plenty of people use it as a starting point: cocktails at Native, then one of Paceville's big clubs a few minutes' walk away. On weeknights early in the evening, it's quiet; at weekends, it's packed.

The happy hour

This is what gives the place its reputation: 2 cocktails for the price of 1.

Day Times
Monday to Saturday 4pm – 9pm
Sunday 12pm – 7:30pm

Other times are circulating online (often outdated): these were confirmed with the bar in June 2026. The menu shown on the website in 2022 listed cocktails at around €8, plus jugs and buckets of beers for groups; prices may have changed since.

Music and atmosphere

The base stays Latin: reggaeton, R&B, afrobeats and afro house, with live DJs and themed parties. The programme comes out on the Instagram @nativeloungeclub. The crowd mixes tourists, locals and groups of friends. What guests like: the friendly staff, the generous happy hour, the cocktails and the food portions. What they regret: few tables on the terrace and quiet starts to the evening on weeknights.

Entry: the bar doesn't publish an entry price, and guests talk about free entry. For a group or a birthday, you can book a table on the bar's website.

After Native: our parties a few steps away

Native is perfect to kick off the night. For the rest of the night, here are our upcoming parties in Paceville, at Sky Club, Toy Room and Hugo's, with online tickets. Malta Adventures is not affiliated with Native.
