Paceville's fun bar (not the film)
If you're searching for "Footloose" in Malta, it's not the 1984 film but the Footloose Fun Bar, one of the oldest venues in Paceville. It calls itself a bar, but people dance until 4am like in a club. Its motto: "Wild Surprising Fun". It's on St George's Road, the main street in the area, right next to Havana.
Footloose has been around for decades. For a lot of Maltese people, it's the first club they ever went to. It closed during Covid, then was completely renovated in spring 2021, with an enlarged main room, before reopening in June 2021.
Is entry free?
Yes, for most of the year. In November 2026, entry is free every night. In summer (June to September), the ticket site that sells its tables sometimes lists entry at €10 to €20 with 2 or 3 drinks; other sources still talk about free nights. Check the night's poster.
For a group, Footloose rents out sofas: €350 for 8 people, €400 for 15 people (prices checked on 6 November 2026).
Age: the club says 17 minimum (one booking site says 16). In Malta, the law requires valid ID in party venues: bring your ID card or passport.
A different party every night
Footloose opens every night, even in winter, and each night has its own name. Here's the week in November 2026:
| Night | Party | What to know |
|---|---|---|
| Monday | Freshers' First | Student night, welcome party for language schools |
| Tuesday | Tequila – Pour Decisions | Tequila deals |
| Wednesday | Hasta Abajo | Latin night, reggaeton |
| Thursday | Thursday Takeover | Chart hits |
| Friday | The Friday Experience | Chart hits, old hits |
| Saturday | Just Saturdays | Chart hits |
| Sunday | Sundays Reloaded | Chart hits |
The big dates (Halloween, Valentine's Day, New Year) have their own separate parties. The names change from one season to the next: check Instagram.
The atmosphere and the crowd
Footloose draws a young, international crowd: English-school students, Erasmus students, young expats, tourists and young Maltese people. It's a good place to meet people: you come with a group, you dance to hits everyone knows, and drinks stay cheap for Paceville.
The room has two bars and holds about 600 people. On Mondays, it fills up gradually from 10pm. On the deals side, in recent months there's been a free jug for every jug bought on Mondays, a happy hour before 11pm and tequila deals on Tuesdays.
Reviews are very mixed: lots of people like the atmosphere and the free entry, others find the place too young and too crowded, and some complain about the welcome at the door. It's a simple, cheap place, not a chic club.
Footloose or a proper club?
Footloose is perfect to kick off the night: free, cheap, right next to everything. For a bigger night, with a large dance floor, DJs and themed parties, plenty of people then head to Sky Club or Toy Room, a few minutes' walk away. Those parties, you can book in advance with us.
