The club everyone knows in Paceville

Havana is one of the oldest clubs still open in Paceville, the party district of St Julian's. It's on St George's Road, the main street in the area, right next to Footloose. Its "HAVANA" neon sign and entrance staircase can be seen from far away. Maltese people of every generation have been through its doors at some point.

In fact, Havana isn't a single room but a small complex: the big two-storey Havana room, Club H on the lower level, Cuba (with its own separate entrance) and a second room. The club closed from January to the end of May 2022 for a major renovation, then reopened.

Entry price: free in winter, paid in summer

It's the question everyone asks, and the answer changes with the season:

  • Winter (roughly September to May): entry is free. In November 2026, the club's ticket page lists it as free from Sunday to Thursday; for Friday and Saturday, check the party poster.
  • Summer (June to August, sometimes into September): expect around €20, with 2 or 3 drinks included depending on the party.
  • Concerts: artist nights (French rappers played there in 2024) have their own ticket.

For a group, Havana also sells VIP tables: from €400 (6 to 10 people) to €600 (up to 15 people) depending on the location.

Age: entry is for ages 17 and over. In Malta, the law requires valid ID in party venues: keep your ID card or passport on you.

What music, which night?

Havana mostly plays R&B, hip-hop and the hits everyone knows, with some reggaeton. The Cuba room is more Latin: reggaeton, Brazilian and Colombian sounds. Here's the typical week in November 2026:

Night Party Vibe
Monday Bang Bang Mondays Commercial
Tuesday Havana Tuesdays Commercial
Wednesday Havana Wednesdays Commercial
Thursday Bad and Boujee Thursdays R&B, hip-hop
Friday Disobey R&B and rap, from 9:30pm
Saturday Just Havana Commercial, R&B, reggaeton
Sunday Havana Sundays Commercial

The names change from one season to the next: check the night's poster on Instagram.

What a night is like

The main room has a big dance floor, several bars, VIP sofas and a first-floor balcony overlooking the street. The upstairs floor is smaller, more R&B and old hits. The crowd is young and international: tourists, language-school students, Maltese locals. In summer it's very young, with lots of 17 and 18-year-olds.

What guests like: free entry for most of the year, a club that's open all year round, and music everyone knows. What they criticise: it's hot, it's packed on peak nights, and the music rarely surprises. On the budget side, count on €5 to €7 for a beer and €10 to €15 for a cocktail in Paceville's clubs.

Havana or Sky Club?

The two are five minutes' walk from each other. Havana is the easy club: free in winter, R&B and hits, you walk in and out as you like. Sky Club is Paceville's big club, with themed nights and guest DJs: you go for a proper big night out. Plenty of people start at Havana and finish at Sky Club or Toy Room, a few steps away.

Getting there and back

  • On foot: St George's Road is pedestrianised in the evening. From Sliema or Gżira, count on 30 to 40 minutes along the seafront.
  • Night bus: route N13 links Valletta to St Julian's at night on weekdays (departures from Valletta from about 11:10pm to 2:10am, every 10 minutes).
  • Bolt, eCabs, taxi: they run all night, but cars can't enter the pedestrian street. Arrange to meet a bit further away, and expect higher prices around 4am.
  • Safety: as everywhere in Paceville in summer, keep your phone and wallet in a zipped pocket, and stay with your group late at night.
