HUGEL in Malta: the Afro House set of the summer at Fort Manoel
Hugel performs at Fort Manoel on 29 August 2026. The French producer and DJ, a global figure in Afro House, plays an open-air set in the 18th-century fort facing Valletta — one of the most spectacular venues of the Maltese season. 6 PM to 11 PM, sunset included.
Who is HUGEL?
Florent Hugel, born in Toulouse, started with commercial House in the mid-2010s before moving to the Afro House sound that defines him today. The remix of “Bella Ciao” with El Profesor was released in 2018 — over 1.5 billion streams, one of the most streamed dance tracks of the decade. Since then: Ibiza residency, Tomorrowland sets, North and South American tours, collaborations with Diplo, Merk & Kremont, Topic.

Fort Manoel sits on Manoel Island in Gzira, a 10-minute drive from Paceville and St Julian's, and 5 minutes from Sliema. Taxi and Bolt drop off at the causeway entrance. Free parking is available on Manoel Island itself.
