Café del Mar Malta
The most iconic beach club on the island

Café del Mar Malta is an institution. Located in St. Paul's Bay, this beach club is the largest and most famous on the island. Its concept is simple: a spectacular infinity pool overlooking the Mediterranean, international DJ sets, expertly crafted cocktails, and a sunset that alone is worth the trip.
What makes Café del Mar unique is the combination of daytime relaxation and evening energy. In the afternoon, the atmosphere is chill—sun loungers, lounge music, and swimming in the infinity pool overlooking St. Paul's Island. Then, as the sun sets, the DJs take over and the atmosphere transforms into a true pool party with quality deep house and electro sounds. Thursday nights have become a must-attend event of the Maltese summer.
Café del Mar is also an excellent restaurant. The Mediterranean menu is carefully curated, the portions generous, and the setting incomparable. It's the kind of place where you can arrive in the mid-afternoon, have dinner there, and stay until closing time without ever getting bored.
If you only have time to go to one beach club during your stay in Malta, this is the one.
Toy Room Beach Club
The new phenomenon — by Pacha
The Toy Room Beach Club is the latest sensation on the Maltese scene. Launched as an extension of the famous Toy Room Club in Paceville (part of the Pacha network, present in London, Dubai and Mykonos), the beach club takes the brand's DNA — playful luxury, mascot Frank, boundless energy — and transposes it to the seaside in Sliema.
The concept: a swimming pool, continuous DJ sets, dancers, live performances, and a pool party atmosphere from midday onwards. The crowd is young and international, coming to party in their swimsuits before continuing the evening at the Toy Room Club.
This is the ideal beach club if you want to combine a day at the beach and a clubbing atmosphere in the same experience.
Bora Bora Ibiza Malta
The Ibiza spirit in Malta
Bora Bora Ibiza Malta brings the Ibiza beach vibe directly to the Maltese coast. Located in Buġibba, this beach club is designed for open-air partying: a large pool, powerful sound, continuous DJ sets, and a clientele that comes to dance in the sun.
The atmosphere is more raw and festive than the beach clubs of Sliema—it's primarily an open-air party venue. Bora Bora is particularly popular with groups of friends, stag and hen parties, and anyone looking for an unfiltered party experience.
Excellent option if you are staying in the north of Malta and want to avoid the journey to Sliema or Paceville.
Would you prefer a pool party?
Some beach clubs organize pool parties with ticketed entry. If you're looking for an event with a DJ, open bar, and reserved entry rather than a daytime lido, we've selected the best pool parties on the island.

Sliema's new chic
Manta is one of Malta's newest beach clubs. Located at Tigné Point, this lido offers a direct panoramic view of Valletta — probably the most beautiful view of the capital from a sun lounger.
The atmosphere is more chic and gastronomic than festive. The Mediterranean menu is high-quality (the sushi is particularly recommended), the service is attentive, and the music is provided by a resident DJ. It's the kind of beach club where you come for a refined brunch, a relaxing afternoon, or a sunset cocktail.
The Manta accepts children, making it one of the few family-friendly beach club options in Malta.
Bagatelle Beach Club
Paceville’s premium terrace
Bagatelle stands out for its very high-end positioning. Located in St George's Bay, directly opposite Paceville's main beach, this restaurant-beach club combines an ambitious gastronomic menu, an elegant terrace overlooking the sea, and a lounge atmosphere that heats up in the evening.
It's the perfect spot for lunch overlooking the sea before immersing yourself in the energy of Paceville. Couples, business groups, and travelers seeking refinement particularly appreciate the place.
Just a stone's throw from all the clubs in Paceville — a significant logistical advantage when the party starts at 11 p.m.
1926 Beach Club (The Beach)
The understated elegance of Sliema
1926 La Plage is the beach club of the boutique hotel 1926 Le Soleil, located on the Sliema seafront. The atmosphere is decidedly chic and intimate: no pool parties here, but an elegant lido with sun loungers, a swimming pool, sea access, and top-notch service.
Open from May to October, during the day for relaxation and in the evening with the La Vie Unique Gastronomy concept — a gourmet restaurant with live music and signature cocktails. 1926 is also open to the public, not just hotel guests.
The perfect option if you're looking for a premium beach club without the noise level of a pool party.

Practical tips for beach clubs in Malta
Reservation
In high season (June-September), book your sunbed in advance — especially at Café del Mar, Manta and 1926. Weekends and pool party days fill up quickly.
Sun loungers & entrance
Most operate with a paid sunbed rental system, available for a full or half day. Some require a minimum purchase. Prices vary depending on location and day.
Dress code
Swimsuit + stylish beachwear. Premium beach clubs (Bagatelle, 1926, Manta) appreciate smart attire for the evening restaurant.
Transportation
Bolt (the equivalent of Uber) is the easiest option. Sliema → Café del Mar: ~15-20 min, €10-15. Sliema's beach clubs are within walking distance of the town center.
Schedules
Opening hours are between 9am and 10am, and between 6pm and 11pm depending on the location. On pool party days (Thursdays at Café del Mar), hours are extended until 1am.
