Where to Go Out in Malta in September 2026? The Best Parties and Events

📋 Table of Contents

September is the month Malta regulars quietly prefer. The sea is still 26 °C, it's 28 °C during the day, but the August queues are gone and flights are affordable again. The clubs haven't shut down either: Toy Room keeps an almost full programme until 13 September, Café del Mar hosts CamelPhat, and BRESH closes the season on 11 September.

Going out in Malta in September 2026: what to expect

September is the best-balanced month of the Maltese season. It's still 28 °C, the sea is 26 °C, but prices drop and the clubs shed the August crowds. The trade-off: the calendar tightens week by week — the first fortnight is still full, the second keeps only Fridays and Saturdays.

    🌤️

    28 °C by day, sea at 26 °C

August's heat eases off without the sea cooling down: it's the best month for boat parties and cruises. The sun sets around 7pm, which makes sunset formats — Café del Mar, Lazy Pirate — even easier to fit into a day.

It all happens in the first two weeks

Until 13 September, Toy Room has a party on almost every night. After the BRESH closing on the 11th, only Fridays (Circus, Ladies Night) and Saturdays (Toy Room Saturdays, Starlight) remain. If you can pick your dates, aim before the 14th.

    🎧

An electronic month, not a showcase month

Unlike July and August, September has no rap showcase at Tigullio. The headliners are electronic: CamelPhat at Café del Mar on the 7th, Neolitika x VELTAX on the 5th and Neolitika x SESH on the 19th. Plus BRESH on the 11th, which is in a category of its own.

    💶

The best value of the year

Flights and hotels drop sharply from the first week of September, while club entry stays at August prices: €15 at TwentyTwo, €25 at Toy Room, €35 for the big dates. Tickets also move slower than in peak season — except for BRESH and CamelPhat.

Where to stay in Malta for September nights out

Stay in St Julian's or Sliema: it's the best base this month. Toy Room is in Paceville and TwentyTwo in Portomaso — both walkable — and both boat parties, Lazy Pirate and Mega Boat, board at Sliema Ferries. For Café del Mar (St Paul's Bay), budget for a taxi (~€15–20) or stay in Bugibba. For Gianpula (Rabat), the shuttle included in the Move It or Pool & Party ticket solves it. Compare availability:

FAQ: going out in Malta in September 2026

Is Malta still busy for nightlife in September?
Yes, very much so in the first fortnight. Toy Room has a party scheduled almost every night until 13 September, TwentyTwo keeps its Fridays and Saturdays all month, and Gianpula hosts Move It ! on 6 September. The real cut-off comes after 26 September, the last club night of the season in Paceville.
What's the one event not to miss in Malta in September 2026?
BRESH at Toy Room on Friday 11 September: it's the club's closing and the biggest night of the month. On the electronic side, CamelPhat at Café del Mar on Monday 7 September is the international headliner. Both are one-off dates.
Can you still do a boat party in Malta in September?
Yes, and it's actually the best month. Lazy Pirate has twelve departures from 1 to 26 September (€69, wooden gulet, unlimited open bar and night swim), Mega Boat Party makes its last sailing on 5 September (€89, 400 people, 7–11.30pm), and the Spirit of Malta cruise to Comino runs daily from 1 to 30 September (€89, buffet lunch included). All three board at Sliema Ferries and the sea is still 26 °C.
Are there French parties in Malta in September?
Le Désir at Toy Room on Tuesdays 1 and 8 September (French Touch and French-language urban sounds), and French Party at TwentyTwo on Sunday 6 September — its last date of the season. There is, however, no French rap showcase at Tigullio this month, unlike July and August.
Do you need to book in advance for September nights?
Less than in August, but yes for the big dates. BRESH (11 September) and CamelPhat (7 September) sell fast because they're one-off end-of-season dates. For Flirt Foam Party, tickets are released in waves and the price rises with each wave sold — booking early costs less.
What's the last party of the season in Malta?
Saturday 26 September: Toy Room Saturdays in Paceville and Starlight at TwentyTwo. After that only occasional events remain in October and November — notably Love Night at Toy Room on 3 and 17 October. The Spirit of Malta cruise, however, keeps running on a reduced schedule until the end of October.

September 2026 in Malta. The final stretch.

BRESH, CamelPhat, Neolitika, Move It !, Toy Room Saturdays, Lazy Pirate: season closings don't come round again next year.
